Fiddler for the win!

Posted on:

HUGE congrats go out to our very own Fiddler54 for taking 5th place in the Last Epic All star of 2011. Over the course of the New Year’s weekend, Fiddler captured his best battle in his Type 59. Turns out he did pretty damn skippy, beating out thousands of other players to nab 5th place (and 1,000 gold!)

Always knew Fiddler was one of the best players in the game… now he has the bragging rights to proove it!

TIDMADT Welcomes its 500th member

Posted on:

It is hard to believe that just a few short months ago, a rag-tag group of refugees from a failing Australian Clan huddled together and wondered what fate would bring. TDC rose from the ashes of FGM on the 15th of August, with TIDMADT following just days after. On December 15th, just 4 short months later, TIDMADT welcomed its 500th member, RyuuTheDragon.

We have been growing on all fronts, with Bonestriker valiantly sacrificing himself by leading the charge into the BF3 arena (yelling some battle-cry about a briar patch?) and Shadow wielding the Force in SW:TOR, but WoT still leads the charge with over 240 in Clan, and several invites still outstanding.

On behalf of all the admins of TIDMADT, we want to thank you all for joining our ranks. Each new member brings something unique and special to our numbers, and we grow stronger and more diversified every day. We have truly been blessed, and we look forward to our numbers growing as the New Year comes upon us!

And the bombing continues

Posted on:

The bombing in WWII was brutal.  Military and industrial installations were targeted, but so were cities and civilian populations.  A U.S. Strategic bombing survey after the war estimated that at a minimum 305,000 were killed in German cities due to bombing and estimated a minimum of 780,000 wounded. Roughly 7,500,000 German civilians were also rendered homeless.  Allied forces found that attacking German waterways resulted in tremendous traffic problems on the Rhine, eliminating the movement of coal (upon which the German railways were reliant on) except in certain limited areas.

For 65 years, the Rhine River hid two bombs and an fog-producing device that were dropped by American and British warplanes in the last years of the war. When water levels dropped to record lows in early December 2011, the bombs were finally found near Koblenz, causing evacuation of over 45,000 residents.  The evacuation, the largest in Germany since the end of the war, crippled the city for days as nearly half the population was relocated.

It is estimated that 257 British air bombs were dropped on Koblenz alone during the war. It is not known how many of them did not explode and have been forgotten. Bomb-disposal squads have only managed to deactivate three of them until now.

7.0 released!

Posted on:

Even as I type, I am downloading the patch for WoT 7.0.  It is a massive dl, about 1,195.62 MB, and will take some time to get, but I am hoping that all that dl will turn into tons of new content.  Time will tell… but I am hopeful.

Those of you who have been following the forums know of the changes that are coming… everything from new maps to multi-cluster technology. Certainly this will change the way we play, but in the end, 15 vehicles will face off against 15 vehicles in a battle for land.

One of the biggest changes coming will be the new “tank freezing” for Clan Wars. To paraphrase, “I know not what the next Clan War will be fought with, but the one after that will be fought with tier I” Hopefully, everyone availed themselves of the codes to get the free garage slots, so we all have plenty of room (I have about 13 empty slots right now) so everyone keep grinding, and keep any vehicle that is within 2 tiers of the top for that line.

The winds of change are coming…

TDC and TDC2 on Clan Wars Map

Posted on:

TDC have regained a position on the Provinces Captured, taking #9 on the list.

Another great effort today, TDC2 fought hard, against 3 x Enemies in B-307, 4THGT and ZSQD. Winning through against all odds, they took the land off of GVN III, and are now back on the map.

It is great to see another TIDMADT Shield on the map, and now to strengthen their position in North Africa

Well done everybody.

WoT – Oceanic Challenge

Posted on:

Following a gutsy performance in the spirit of TIDMADT Clans, TDC-A was knocked out of the Oceanic Challenge last night by PANZAC – Drop Bears. TDC-A were paid the ultimate compliment by the PANZAC’s team, when after the first match, PANZAC’s changed their strategy to mirror that used by TDC-A. A hard fought affair where the difference came down to, not the skill of the team members, but the camoflauge skill of the individual tanks in use.
All members of the TIDMADT Clans entries (TDC-A & B) played extremely well, gained invaluable experience in a pressure situation and upheld the spirit of sportsmanship and good gamesmanship throughout.

November Oceanic Challenge

Posted on:

Last night TDC-A won through to the round of 8 against Mongolian Team with a resounding 3:0 win. Good communication, teamwork and discipline were the highlights of the matches.

A better turn out was experienced with 6 of the 7 team members being available for the nights endeavours, ensuring that a case of nerves could be easily accomodated!

One more match win, and TDC-A are guaranteed at least 1000 Gold. Go TEAM!!!!!

TDC-A wins. TDC-B defeated

Posted on:

Last night TDC’s two teams fronted up for the continuation of the November Oceanic Challenge. For TDC-A, ably led by ThaSpot, a 3:0 win was achieved. Thanks must go out to those who filled in for missing players making the night a success for TDC-A. Unfortunately TDC-B were unsuccessful in their bid to progress.

By the looks of the tournament standings leader board, it appears that TDC-A may have a walk through at their next encounter due to a no show by “Mongolian Team” in their encounters. (I am tipping that this will be challenged as they had a walk through for the round). If the walk through for TDC-A is upheld we must remember to show up and gain our technical victories!

TDC Strengthens their Position on Leaderboard

Posted on:

We have been on and off the Provinces Captured Top 10 list a number of times. Even when we equalled #6, we sat outside the Top 10. Well not only are we on the Provinces Captured Top 10 list, but we sit in a firm #5. This is a firm position, as we are actually equal #3.

There are also some future moves coming that will increase the strength of TDC and TDC2.

Keep up the great work guys and girls.

TDC-A and TDC-B Through to1/16 Round

Posted on:

Well what can I say. 5v5 Tournament during Oceanic time. TDC-A squad led by ThaSpot, and TDC-B squad led by Wilso, jumped into ATC, and worked out some rollouts.

After that, we jumped into separate squad channels, and prepped ready to fight the enemy thrown at us. TDC-A prepped for the battle against B-307, while TDC-B prepped for their match against Bluelight Expressed (81 Armored Regiment). All the prep work was for nothing on the night though, as the enemy trembled in fear at facing TDC, and didn’t bother showing up.

Tomorrow nights participants are believed that they will show. TDC-A take on Wolfpack [WFPK] 1, while TDC-B take on Tin Can Heroes Primary.

Congratulations to both teams for getting through. Now onto the next win
