Post subject:  Wireless Router Recommendation

I need to get a new wireless router. The one I have doesn't send a strong enough signal to my upstair rooms. Anyone have a recommendation? I prefer not to spend over $80.

Thanks

i would recommend Belkin product for home use, because their product has alot function customised for home usage, such as downloading, file and printer sharing and stuff like that.

Late to the party, I know. I use and highly recommend, a Netgear WNDR3700. The new version with the 4200 or something has a slower processor.

Of course, I use it flashed with DD-WRT firmware for more extensive control of it's functions and added features. Overall, as a base unit, no modded firmware, it's a fantastic unit. Rated one of the highest from cnet I think.

I am using a D-Link DIR 655 model.

It has Wireless N and is a gigabit router instead of the usual 10/100Mbits.

One thing I like about D-Link is the lifetime warranty they offer.

Depends on your budget and needs : ).
D-Link and Belkin are pretty good with their routers.

I've been using the D-Link DGL-4500

I recommend the Netgear Pro Safe line. I've used all makes and models, but this one kicks ass. Model FVS318N, Prosafe Wireless N VPN Firewall. Last one you'll ever need (well maybe not). I'm using the FVS318 model as I like a separate AP for wireless. Being a hard core network dude and gamer, I always look for reliability and throughput. Just because it has 100 meg ports doesn't mean that's the throughput. How many PCs are using your network? A more robust switch fabric = better parallel tasking = better performance for gaming while wifey is surfing the net or watching Netflix. Extra latency can really kill in game performance. Just my two cents worth.

If you are willing to spend a bit more you can't go wrong with the Billion set of routers - I've been using one for years and it's been rock solid.

Thanks everyone and I selected the Netgear from Hobbiteer. Just finished setting it up and it connected to the Wii upstairs!
