Last time I was on my computer I changed the password which I do regularly. The problem is that when I went to log back in today the bloody thing decided that it didn't like the new password and refuses to let me log on.I enter the new password and it just comes back as incorrect password.I am running windows xp sp3.Really annoying as I can now sit for a time without pain and would like to return to the world of the living. Anyone help will be greatly appreciated. spooke

My first thing would be to download a Unix boot disk from another computer and just break the password, but unfortunately not too many computers actually have 3.5" Floppy drives any more. Could put it on USB though

Did you set an administrator password? You can login with a blank field as the password with that account sometimes. Then you can run pwdump and either download the hashes onto another computer with the tables to crack them or get someone else to do it for you. There are some forums that crack hashes but if you've reused your windows password for other net based services, beware of this option. Hope it works out. Good luck!
